Hamburger SV
About Hamburger SV
Hamburger SV are one of Germany's founding football institutions, a club with European Cup pedigree, a 57,000-capacity stadium, and a fanbase that maintained elite-level support through several years in the 2. Bundesliga before returning to the top flight. The Volksparkstadion's Nordtribüne is the home of HSV's organised support, and the atmosphere on derby days and big Bundesliga fixtures is electric.
The Volksparkstadion is located in the Stellingen district, accessible by S-Bahn from Hamburg Hbf in about 25 minutes. The stadium complex includes extensive parking and fan zones, and the surrounding area fills with HSV supporters hours before kick-off.
Hamburg is Germany's second-largest city and one of its most rewarding for visitors. The Speicherstadt warehouse district (UNESCO), Elbphilharmonie concert hall, Reeperbahn nightlife, and the harbour give you more than enough for a long weekend. With St. Pauli's Millerntor just across the city, Hamburg is one of the few places where you can watch two completely different football cultures in a single weekend.
