Football in Frankfurt

Frankfurt is Germany's transport capital and one of the best bases for a multi-city football trip. Frankfurt Hbf is the country's busiest railway station, with ICE connections to virtually every stadium city. Eintracht Frankfurt at Deutsche Bank Park provide an excellent matchday experience. The Waldkurve's European night choreography became famous across Europe during the 2022 Europa League run.

The city has shed its reputation as a faceless financial centre. Sachsenhausen's Apfelwein (cider) taverns, the Museum Embankment along the Main river, the Kleinmarkthalle food market, and a growing bar scene give visitors plenty to explore. The skyline, Germany's only true skyscraper cluster, has earned Frankfurt the nickname "Mainhattan."

For multi-game trips, Frankfurt's rail position is unbeatable. Mainz (25 min), Darmstadt (25 min), Wiesbaden (35 min), and Mannheim (40 min) form a cluster of 4 to 5 clubs within 40 minutes. Further afield, Cologne (60 min), Stuttgart (75 min), and Nuremberg (120 min) are all day-trip distance.
