Football in Berlin

Berlin offers two contrasting Bundesliga-level football experiences. Union Berlin's Stadion An der Alten Försterei in Köpenick is intimate, atmospheric, and embedded in the club's East German community identity. Hertha BSC's Olympiastadion, built for the 1936 Olympics, is a 74,475-capacity monument with a running track that creates distance between fans and pitch but delivers on sheer scale.

The city is Germany's capital and its cultural centre, with major museums, a nightlife scene that runs from Friday evening to Monday morning, street food from every cuisine, and enough history for weeks of exploration. Football tourists benefit from excellent public transport (U-Bahn, S-Bahn, trams) that reaches every corner of the city.
